About
Arugam Bay has about 10 km of right-hand point breaks, running from Crocodile Rock down to Peanut Farm. It lies on the southeast coast just south of Pottuvil, 320 km east of Colombo. International surf contests have come here since 2004. The season is April to October, and the beachfront bars put on acoustic sets and DJ nights through the peak months. Most of them shut once the swell drops.
