The hall seats 1,100, with room for 200 more, and it only opened on 8 March 2026. It belongs to the Bhiksu University of Sri Lanka at Anuradhapura, which educates Theravada Buddhist monks and has done so under one name or another since a 1968 act of parliament. The stage has full sound and lighting, with rehearsal rooms behind it. The university hires the room out for cultural performances and conferences as well as its own convocations.
