About
Byron Theatre is an intimate theatre at the Byron Community Centre on Jonson Street, Byron Bay. Its program runs from theatre and live music to film screenings, spoken word events and family shows, for locals and visitors across the Northern Rivers. The fully equipped theatre seats up to 266, with amphitheatre or retracted seating, and a courtyard bar serves drinks and snacks that can be taken into the theatre. Byron Theatre is home to Byron Theatre Company, its resident company founded in 2025 to create and champion original theatre in the Northern Rivers. It is a non-profit social enterprise of the Byron Community Centre, an independent charity that has served the community for over 100 years.
