About
The Manly Fig is a volunteer-run, non-profit live music night held on the last Friday of each month, running since 29 March 2009. Each night brings three acts of varying genres, starting with an acoustic act and building to higher energy bands and ensembles, from singer-songwriters to blues, jazz, folk, country, Latin and big bands, with a mix of originals and covers. It is a listening venue: no talking during the performances, two 20 minute breaks to catch up with friends, and cafe-style table seating. For most of the year it runs at Seaforth Bowling Club in Seaforth; in January and February it moves to the Balgowlah RSL. After the costs of the venue and sound, the door goes to the artists. Each night is recorded live by Radio Northern Beaches.
